What is the main thrust of the chapter? What is most important? Are
there any important quotes worth sharing/noting that really get at
the heart of the chapter?
Important Vocabulary
Are there any key words or phrases that are repeated? Any words or
phrases that should be remembered? Any new words?
Scripture Connection
Did any part of scripture come to mind as you read? Did the author
refer to any scripture? What are your biblical reflections on the
chapter?
Other Resources
Did you think of any outside sources as you read i.e. articles, quotes,
movies, songs, poetry, TV advertisements, books? Did the author point
out any helpful resources for finding more information or for relating
the chapter to culture?
Discussion Questions
Does the book ask any questions worth discussing? Are there any other
questions we should discuss? Are there any “clarifying” questions that
you have or something you didn’t fully understand?
Contention Points
Are there any parts where you disagreed with the author? Is the
author taking a particular point too far, or not far enough?
Action Plan
How can we/you start to put this into practice? What are some
examples that the book gives or that you know of? How is this chapter
asking you to change? Asking the church to change? Asking the culture
to change?
