Financial Stewardship

Posted by Greg Veltman in Practical Skills, Templates on Nov 06 2007.

Often times college is a place where the temptation of applying for every credit card in the mail is great- Leaving many students in a lot of debt. Below are some websites that might work as a good resources and a starting point for student and campus ministers to talk about finances and try to find redemptive ways to steward one’s money for the glory of God.

From Newsweek:
“Budget online. New socialnetworking financial Web sites like mint.com, geezeo.com and wesabe.com are made for twentysomethings, says Todd Romer of youngmoney.com, an advice Web site. You can keep all your finances in one place, check your balances from your cell phone or office” -

I suggest very strongly Dave Ramsey’s “Financial Peace University” curriculum. See http://www.daveramsey.com. Ramsey hosts a nationally syndicated radio program from Nashville, TN and offers sound financial principles rooted in Christian stewardship through his published texts, workbooks, tapes, CDs, and other curriculum. Good stuff for college folk!
