Chris Coppernoll is the founder of Soul2Soul Ministries with radio
programming heard in more than six hundred outlets worldwide. He has
conducted hundreds of interviews on faith issues with personalities
such as Amy Grant, Max Lucado, Michael W. Smith, and Brennan Manning.
He serves as a deacon at The People’s Church in Franklin, Tennessee and
is currently working toward a Masters in Ministry Leadership degree
through Rockbridge Seminary. Providence, his first novel, is his
fourth book.
“Providence is a place where characters feel and experience God’s
presence,” says debut novelist, Chris Coppernoll, author of Providence:
Once Upon A Second Chance. “They know that even when God calls us down
a dark and frightening path, it always leads us to somewhere unexpected
and awesome.”
Chris Coppernoll is the host of Soul2Soul Radio, an interviewer whose
talks with people of faith are heard weekly in over 30 countries, an
American novelist, and the author of four books. “In Providence, I
wanted to write about God’s love for us and how He works out His love
in our lives.”
Set in the pop culture world of the 1980’s, and the intrusive media age
of the 21st century, Providence is a story about fame, influence,
social justice, facing the past, and rediscovering true love. “At the
heart of Providence are two love stories. One centers on a man’s life
long love of a woman, and the other is devoted to God’s eternal love
for all of us.”
Providence tells the story of a campus pastor, Jack Clayton, who enjoys
a comfortable, but private life. When he unwittingly writes a
phenomenal best selling book, Jack’s world is rocked as he finds
himself unexpectedly famous, and a reluctant national icon. The past
he’s hidden comes to light as Jack’s personal world is investigated by
the modern 24-hour cable news cycle.
“Like many faithful Christians, Jack Clayton has a past. Before he was
a believer, he made some bad choices and lives with a lot of regret.”
By faith, Jack faces his greatest fears and follows God, revealing his
past through writing. To his surprise and delight, Jack finds that
when he acts on faith, God unveils a rich, full life far exceeding
anything he could possibly ask for or imagine.
“Being single, I wanted to write about characters who deal with the
many real issues singles face - loneliness, love lost, the tension of
wanting what you can’t make happen, and wondering if God has romantic
partnership in His plans for you. I believe many people will relate to
the issues of singleness addressed in Providence.”
As an interviewer to prominent Christian artists and celebrities from
Amy Grant and Michael W. Smith to Max Lucado and Sheila Walsh, Chris
has seen first hand the glass bowl many Christian spokespersons live
in. “We live in an American Idol culture where fame is sought by so
many people. Readers will live vicariously through Jack’s national
acclaim, and see how celebrity can be a two-edged sword.”
Chris is promoting his debut novel in a novel way, by establishing the
foundation “Providence Cares.” “A major theme in Providence is how
people can help meet the needs of others. In my own life, I’ve watched
friends grapple with the overwhelming costs of catastrophic illness
when a child becomes sick. Most of us believe health insurance or a
state agency always covers treatment costs for health issues such as
organ transplants and the life sustaining medications that follow–they
don’t. Families are often shocked to discover they must raise tens of
thousands of dollars on their own, and it feels like a Mount Everest
sized task. Providence Cares is one way for a family to raise some
needed support in a single night. They host an event where the author
will come, speak, and sign books–and 100% of the proceeds goes toward
the family’s health care and expenses. For more information, families
